The Green Eclectic

Greetings, and welcome to the Green Eclectic!  I suppose some introductions are in order.

I’m Anne Green, and this is my tiny corner of the Internet.  Should you be so inclined to read, you’ll be subjected to my musings on the planet and our place in the (sometimes really big) scheme of things.

Who am I?  Well, to start with, I’m someone who despises labels.  But people really seem to adore labels, so here are a few that apply to me:

  • Thinker & optimist
  • Reader & writer
  • Photographer
  • Eclectic Pagan
  • News junkie
  • Meditator & yogini
  • Environmentalist
  • Gamer girl
  • Occasional vagabond

That list isn’t all-inclusive, nor is it in any particular order.  For instance, a lot (but not all) of what I’ll be writing about here is my existence as an eclectic solitary Pagan.  But that’s just one facet of who I am, not the Whole Me, so it’s on the list but it’s not necessarily at the top of the list… even though it’s going to be a big part of this blog.

I’m also somebody who likes to live a little off the beaten path.  Sometimes that means living in places with a very small population, places where people leave their doors unlocked and where you can get some pretty good gossip if you spend much time at the local post office or grocery store.  Not accurate gossip, mind you, but good gossip nonetheless.

So yeah, Anne Green’s a nom de plume.  Sorry about that, but that’s kind of the way it has to be, and I figure the least I can do is be up front with you about it.

Don’t get me wrong — I’m proud of who I am and what I believe in, I want to share that with you, and I’m looking forward to having some great conversations with you — but unfortunately there are still a lot of misconceptions about who Pagans are, what they believe, and what kind of lives they lead.  I’m hoping to clear a little bit of that up as we go along, but until the world becomes a significantly more tolerant place, I’m not de-anonymizing myself here.

Besides, it’s the Internet: stay safe out there, kids… don’t tell strangers you leave your door unlocked and then give them enough info to visit your house!
